DeKalb County is a county located in the U.S. state of Missouri. As of 2000, the population is 11,597. The county was organized in 1845 and is named after the American Revolutionary War general Johann de Kalb. The county along with Buchanan and Andrew counties in Missouri and Doniphan County, Kansas, is included in the St. Joseph Metropolitan Statistical Area, which had an estimated population of 122,306 in 2006.
