Crawford County is a county located in the U.S. state of Missouri, and determined by the U.S. Census Bureau to include the mean center of U.S. population in 1990. As of 2000, the population was 22,804. Its county seat is Steelville. The county was organized in 1829 and is named after Georgia U.S. Senator William H. Crawford. The current county commissioner is Edwin Worley, first elected in 2002 and completing his first term in January 2007.
